The others allow some up/down movement of the pistol inside the MCK. The extended position locks in place OK.Ģ - Out of the 4 models of MCK that I bought only one holds the pistol very firmly. I feel that these have a place in a "get me home" kit.ġ - The folding arm brace doesn't really latch well in the folded position and tends to flop around until you lock it into the extended position. Considering the close ranges that MCKs will likely be used in this is probably an OK solution.Ĥ- When folded, the MCK fits into most backpacks and some truck/SUV center consoles. This is not entirely bad, since too much power, (especially in a small room), can cause the user to be blinded from reflection. However, I don't believe the 500 lumen spec! It seems much lower in actual observation. But if you are wanting to augment your XD/XDm, keep magazine compatibility and want the option of quickly removing your pistol from the MCK and using it as a pistol again, this may be a good option.ġ - The MCK provides a much more stable shooting platform than just a bare pistol.Ģ - The spare magazine carrier is very handy.ģ - The optional MCKFL flashlight is a good upgrade and is well integrated into the MCK. If you need heavy duty in this size package perhaps a CZ Scorpion EVO3 S2 Micro, a SIG MCX, a Ruger PC Charger or a host of others is a better solution. However, I think that they do a good job filling a particular niche. The MCK is mostly plastic and isn't something that I feel would be suitable for very heavy duty use such as law enforcement. This won't be an issue for us XD folks, (since all the XD versions are GEN 2), but they still make GEN 1 versions for other pistols, so I am making this distinction. The GEN 2 is much preferred over GEN 1.I would be very interested in hearing from others about their experiences with the MCK. I am not claiming to be any kind of expert or tactical operator, I'm just some old man that like guns in general and XD/XDm pistols in particular!
